Earth Hour and Beyond
We have never been more empowered to drive change than we are today. Through a constant feed of news and information, smart technology and digital platforms drive awareness of global issues, prompt conversation and inspire action, as people connect over common interests and shared causes.
With Earth Hour around the corner, it is the perfect opportunity to participate in a global movement to drive change. To contribute, on 19 March 2016, at 8.30pm, McDonald’s® will switch off all non-essential lights at all its restaurants across the island for an hour. This ranges from exterior lights like McDonald’s signage and Drive-Thru lighting, to interior decorative lights and 70 per cent of lights in the dining and lobby areas, as well as plasma TVs.
Beyond Earth Hour, McDonald’s has also been working on improving our environmental footprint by progressively reducing, reusing and recycling as much as possible. In fact, anyone can be an agent of change and no effort is too small to make a difference. Along with sharing some of our green initiatives, here are some ideas on how you can join us on our journey too!
