McDonald’s Singapore’s National Breakfast Day ended with a blast this morning as more than 120,000 people received free Egg McMuffins across 121 restaurants island-wide, making it to the Singapore Book of Records for “Largest Number of Muffins Given Away”.

McDonald’s brought back National Breakfast Day, the World’s Biggest Breakfast Programme, to energise participants on a Monday morning and instill the importance of breakfast.

In addition, through partnerships with Tampines North Grassroots Organisation and SBS Transit, McDonald’s also extended its reach this year by giving out additional Egg McMuffins to members of the community. Needy families within the Tampines North Constituency received 1,000 free muffins and McDonald’s surprised Bus Captains this morning with breakfast giveaways at the Ang Mo Kio, Jurong East and Tampines bus interchanges.

“We thank our customers and partners for the success of National Breakfast Day once again,” said Miss Phyllis Cheung, Managing Director, McDonald’s Restaurants (Singapore). “The response to this year’s National Breakfast Day was outstanding, and over 120,000 Egg McMuffins were distributed. The breakfast excitement does not stop here and we are looking to continue sharing the joys of breakfast beyond today.”

McDonald’s Singapore also introduced its first ever “All Day Breakfast” where customers can continue to enjoy their favourite breakfast items beyond breakfast hours till 6 pm today.
