Meet the real McFamily!
The four siblings began their careers at McDonald's® as Crew. Cindy, 31, started hers as a part-time Crew when she was 15. Her enthusiasm for the job inspired Irene, now 29, to follow her path. Both of them went on to complete their ‘O’ Level and then a Diploma in Business Practice (Administration and Management) as a full-time staff via the McDonald's Continuous Lifelong Learning Programme. Seeing what their sisters could achieve here, Andy and Elaine embarked on their own McDonald's journey too.
Today, Cindy and Irene have risen through the ranks to become McDonald's Business Consultants where they each supervise more than 300 staff and five to six restaurants. Andy, 28, is now a Restaurant General Manager and Elaine, 19, is a Crew Leader.
Their father did have reservations about their choice of work at the beginning – would they remain a Crew forever? Over time, their continuous professional and learning progression have set his heart at ease and given him a sense of pride. In fact, he can look forward to greater achievements from the siblings in the days ahead. Irene sums it up best: “Working at McDonald's, you feel that there is no ceiling. There are a lot of opportunities to move up, and you can even move to other departments to expand your skills set.”
