McDonald's Sets Up First "Moms Panel" In Singapore

Singapore, May 11, 2007
Mother’s Day this year will be especially poignant for five mothers here as they assume their roles in McDonald’s first Moms Panel in Singapore. Recognising the significant role Moms play in the well-being of families, and to learn from their valued views and perspectives, McDonald’s has taken the initiative to listen to what parents want for their children and respond directly to families’ changing needs.

Coming from diverse backgrounds, McDonald’s Moms Panel in Singapore comprise Adeline Foo (Children’s book author), Irene Jansen (Lifestyle chef), Michelle Lee (Personal fitness trainer), Ong Sze Fong (Art instructor) and Sarimah Salamon (Public relations professional). Apart from being mothers, one key trait shared by all is their interest in balanced, active lifestyles.

The five moms on the panel will be sharing their insights and contributing their input towards McDonald’s ongoing commitment towards Children’s Well-being initiatives. Specifically, their input is sought for the following key areas:

• Happy Meal Menu Development / Happy Meal Choices
• In-restaurant activities for families
• Educational and promotional outreach for children’s well-being including Moms Outreach via www.mcdonalds.com.sg

“McDonald’s recognizes and appreciates the important role moms play in the well-being of their families. We intend to listen and learn from our Moms Panel with the goal of providing the best possible experience for families in our restaurants. We would like to become the best ally we can for moms and to further our commitment towards children’s well-being – body, mind and spirit," said Ms Shirley Foenander, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, McDonald’s Restaurants.
