Career Opportunities

It’s hard to see a dead end when there’s opportunity all around

Starting out at McDonald’s opens up to a world of career opportunities. As an employer, we value our people and their needs. We provide not just the training and tools, but more importantly, an energising and service-oriented environment that allows the individual to grow personally and developmentally.

The success of the McDonald’s brand is a result of its motivated, well-trained employees. If you’re looking for growth opportunities and an avenue to learn, go with the industry leader. In its 27th year of operation, McDonald’s Singapore now employs more than 6,000 crew and managers in over 120 company-owned restaurants island-wide.

The following are key positions:

Restaurant Management
Running a McDonald’s restaurant is commercial management in the fullest sense and employers know-it. Many of our restaurants have a million dollar plus turnover and employ a team of 50 or more people. As a Restaurant Manager, you set targets, plan budgets, control stock, recruit, train and inspire your team, create and drive marketing campaigns and reach out to the local community and people in the neighborhood. Put simply, your ideas, initiative and personality will shape your restaurant.

Restaurant Crew
Whether you’re a student looking for work that fits in your schedule, returning to work after raising your kids, or looking to embark on a long-term hospitality career, a McDonald’s crew position is a great place to start. With many outlets operating 24 hours, you’re sure to find a slot that works for you.

We invest heavily to ensure that employees at all levels get the training and opportunity to develop to their full potential. There’s even the possibility of enrolling in a university accredited program for advanced standing toward a degree.

If you’re the ambitious sort, you’ll be pleased to know that more than half of our management team started as crew and moved up gradually into positions of greater responsibility. The following is a typical career path.

Crew Store Activities Representative (STAR)
Crew Leader Service Ambassador (SA)
Floor Manager Store Activities Executive (SAE)
2nd Assistant Manager Marketing Executive (MSM)
1st Assistant Manager
Restaurant Manager
Business Consultant
Business Manager

In fact, many of our Restaurant Managers move on to become operations consultants in charge of clusters of five or more restaurants. But with over 30,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries around the world and more on the way, McDonald’s growth both in Singapore and around the world also presents a range of opportunities beyond the restaurant floor. Our corporate office requires people with talents in a number of fields, especially finance, logistics, administration, marketing and information technology.

Whatever the position that interests you, you’ll be glad to know that at McDonald’s, we’re keenly aware that people are our most valuable resource. We invest in their growth and job satisfaction, not just because it is the right thing to do, but because the satisfaction of our customers hinges directly on the satisfaction and motivation of our people.
